Weddings

St Peter’s Wellesbourne

If you live within the Parish of St Peter’s Wellesbourne, you are entitled to get married at the Parish Church.

St James’s Walton d’Eivile

If you live within the Parish of St James’s Walton D’Eivile, you are entitled to get married at the Parish Church.

However, if either of you is divorced and the ex-spouse is still alive, it is not automatically possible to marry in the Church of England. The vicar needs to consider each case individually and make a decision, so before making any arrangements for a wedding you would need to arrange to meet with the vicar for at least one interview.

It is possible to marry in a church where you do not live if you have a ‘qualifying connection’ with that church. For instance, if you were baptised there, or a close family member worshipped there, or you were resident there for a length of time. If you do not already have a qualifying connection with St Peter’s or St James’s, you can make that connection by worshipping regularly (twice a month) at the church for at least 6 months. (Note that most St James’s services are at 9.00am, so you would need to be able to reach us in time.)

For both churches, all enquiries should be directed to the Parish Administrator on 01789 841359; Email: - st.p.wellesbourne@gmail.com
