Children and Youth

CHILDREN’S CHURCH: We welcome newcomers

Story telling for the under 7 years

This happens on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at the 10.15am services.  Children and leaders gather in the ringing chamber at the back of church during the hymn before the Gospel reading and have story time.  Once everyone is gathered, the leader lays out the worship space, tells a familiar Bible story to the children and finishes with some craft activity.  The leaders use all sorts of creative ways to tell the story - maybe using powerpoint, puppets, story with actions and much more.

Children who are at the service in the church centre will be collected by one of the leaders and returned at the end of the session.

On the 3rd Sunday there is a special sort of storytelling or a suitable DVD will be shown

Do bring your children along and while they are safely being told a story you can enjoy hearing the Gospel being read and the teaching that follows.

Over 7 years

Currently there is no special provision but children who come are welcome to join the story telling and help the leaders

Year 6 upwards

Why not join the youth group at 10.15am on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in the Church Centre?  Meet up with other young people and explore the Christian faith together. On the 3rd Sunday the young people will attend the Connections service as a group with the youth leader.

1st Sunday

We meet for Cafe ConnecTions at 10.15am in the Church Centre for informal worship with a small band and using powerpoint. Bacon butties served from 9.45am.  A Holy Communion service runs concurrently in church so there is the opportunity to go into church and receive Communion after the end of Cafe ConnecTions. This is a very family friendly service so there is no special provision for children .

3rd Sunday

We meet for Faith in 50 minutes at 10.15am in church for an informal, interactive service of modern songs, band, powerpoint and more!

Children's area in Church

If you would prefer to keep your child with you in church, please feel free to use the children’s area within the North Aisle.

There you will find a selection of toys, crayoning material and books to keep your child occupied and happy.   At the end of the service drinks and biscuits are served in this area where the children can sit at the tables. Many of the congregation will come over and enjoy hearing more about what the children have been doing or just get to know them a bit better.

Youth Group

Younger-11-14
This youth group currently meets on the second and fourth Sundays in the month from 10.15am-10.50am in the upstairs room of the Church Centre. Young people and leaders gather together to discuss a different topic each time and also to have some focused meditation and prayer time together.

At 10.50am, we rejoin the service in Church or in the Church Centre, dependant on where families are gathered and what the young people wish to do for their worship on that particular week.

Older-15+

This group meets for Bible Study on the third Friday of each month, from 6.15pm-7.15pm. Here we use this opportunity to delve deeper in the word of God and to explore more about our own faith and enable the young people to develop and grown in their faith.

St. Peter’s Toddler Group (Little Angels)

This group meets every Monday 1.30-3pm during term time in the Church Centre. Every week there is a song time and alternate weeks
a little act of worship.0000
